The Czech system of higher education currently comprises 25 public universities that offer a range of study fields and subjects within Bachelor, Master and Doctoral (Ph.D.) study programmes as well as non-degree courses, and 1 non-university public institution of higher education (the Polytechnic College in Jihlava) which provides Bachelor study programmes and non-degree courses.
Following the adoption of the applicable Higher Education Act No. 111/1998, Coll., as last amended, public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic enjoy a complete independence i.a. as regards the stipulation of conditions for admission to study, assessment of study-related fees and the design of study programmes.
The database of study programmes offered is available in English on the website of the Czech NARIC.
Prospective applicants for admission are advised to address their enquiries concerning the terms and conditions of enrolment and range of study options offered to individual institutions of higher education.
