ACES - Academy of Central European Schools

ACES was launched in 2006 by the ERSTE Foundation in  Austria and is co-ordinated by the Intercultural Centre in Vienna.

ACES aims to create efficient networks of co-operating schools from the participating countries (their current number is expected to rise in the years to come): Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia/FYROM, Monte Negro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. The best projects submitted by schools from the above-mentioned countries are selected annually to receive support from the ERSTE Foundation.

The target population of co-operative activities should be students aged 12 to 17. Students, teachers and experts from the participating countries may take part in the project implementation, English being the language of communication within the framework of each project.

The ERSTE Foundation extends grants especially in support of cross-border partnership projects promoting “European values”. The ACES organising agency offers help in finding a partner school.
