As part of the Czech Presidency of the European Union, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports will be organizing a regular joint spring Meeting of Directors General for Higher Education and Presidents of Rectors' Conferences. This meeting that gathers representatives of ministries and higher education institutions will focus on two topical issues:
- the development of higher education beyond 2010 within the context of the Bologna process and the Lisbon Agenda
(Updated strategic framework for co-operation in education and training)
- and latest developments, challenges and good practice in possibilities of financing higher education, directed on
sustainable funding through full costing and income diversification.
The exchange of views, information and practical examples could contribute to future policy development and practice in the area of sustainable funding of higher education as presently one of the most topical issues in European higher education. The topic will be supported by studies/findings of EUA, EU and independent experts.
